Cataract surgery from €3,400

Cataract surgery replaces your eye's clouded natural lens with a clear artificial one, and is one of the most performed operations in ophthalmology worldwide — available at our partner ophthalmology hospitals across Turkey from €3,400 for a standard monofocal lens up to €5,200-5,500 for premium femtosecond-laser multifocal-toric lenses.

Package details

  • Biometry (lens power calculation) and eye health check
  • Phacoemulsification with IOL implantation, one or both eyes
  • Surgeon and hospital fees
  • Post-operative check-ups and medication

The lens decision is the real decision

The surgery itself is fairly standardized; what actually changes your outcome is which lens goes in. A monofocal lens gives sharp vision at one distance and glasses are still needed for the rest. Multifocal and extended-depth-of-focus lenses aim to reduce that dependence across near and far, at the cost of a higher chance of halos or glare at night for some patients. Toric versions of either lens correct astigmatism at the same time. There's no universally "best" lens — it's a trade-off your surgeon walks through based on your eyes, your astigmatism, and how much you value spectacle independence versus the sharpest possible night vision.

Femtosecond laser assistance

In premium packages, a laser performs the initial corneal incisions and lens fragmentation with more precision than manual instruments, particularly useful for centering multifocal or toric lenses accurately — small positioning errors matter more with these lens types than with a standard monofocal. MedAgent arranges your biometry appointment, lens selection consultation, surgery and stay around your treatment.

  1. Send your eye exam details and lens preference, if you have one
  2. Get a quote based on the lens type that suits your eyes
  3. Travel to Turkey for biometry and surgery
  4. Stay for the next-day check, then recover at home

Questions patients ask

Can both eyes be done on the same trip? Yes, often a few days apart, which is common for patients travelling from abroad.

Will I still need reading glasses? With a monofocal lens, almost certainly for near tasks; with multifocal lenses, less often, though this varies by patient.

What if I also have astigmatism? A toric lens corrects it during the same surgery, avoiding the need for separate astigmatism correction later.
