Corneal transplant (keratoplasty) from €11,000

When the cornea is too scarred, thin, or clouded for vision to be restored any other way, a transplant replaces the damaged tissue with healthy donor cornea — available from €11,000 for one eye at our partner ophthalmology hospitals across Turkey.

Package details

  • Corneal evaluation, pachymetry and donor tissue matching
  • Keratoplasty surgery, one eye
  • Surgeon and hospital fees
  • Post-operative check-ups and medication

Full-thickness or layer-by-layer

Not every transplant replaces the whole cornea. Penetrating keratoplasty (PK) replaces all layers and is used for deep scarring or disease; lamellar techniques such as DALK or DSEK/DMEK replace only the affected layer, which can mean faster visual recovery and a lower rejection risk. Your surgeon chooses the technique based on which layers of your cornea are damaged.

Donor tissue and timing

Donor corneal tissue is sourced through accredited eye banks and matched before your arrival where possible, which helps keep the time between diagnosis and surgery as short as your case allows. MedAgent coordinates this scheduling alongside your hospital, flights and stay.

Steps to book

  1. Send your corneal specialist's notes or imaging for review
  2. Receive a quote once the transplant technique is confirmed
  3. Travel to Turkey for pre-op testing and surgery
  4. Stay through the first follow-up before flying home

Questions patients ask

How long does a transplanted cornea last? Many grafts last decades, though long-term success depends on the underlying condition and how well rejection is managed with medication.

Will I need glasses afterward? Most patients still need glasses or contact lenses for the best vision, since the new cornea's curvature rarely matches your natural eye exactly.

What if my body rejects the graft? Rejection is treatable if caught early — this is why regular follow-up and anti-rejection eye drops matter in the months after surgery.

Final pricing depends on your individual eye exam results and the transplant technique used. Contact us for a personalized quote.
